Vlogging Week ’09, Day 1 – Handwashing

I always like taking the simple everyday tasks of life and really breaking them down and using video to focus on them. That’s what this is.

    Josh,

Most excellent! I’ve never seen a JoshLeo video I didn’t like and I’m looking forward to the rest of the week!

First, it’s just classic Josh Leo. I LOVE when you do stuff like this.

Second I’m wondering if you’d let me remix it into a short (like 30 seconds) “lets was our hands of big bank bailouts” kind of thing. Won’t do it if you don’t say it’s okay.

HUG! It’s so freaking awesome to see video from you. AWESOME!!!

  3. sull says:

    nice and clean!

  4. Jen says:

    I feel so dirty now.

  5. Liane says:

Hospitals could use this as part of their universal precautions training:) A lot more interesting than their usual hand washing videos.

  6. Rachel says:

Amazing! Every video I’ve ever seen of yours, Josh, has been beautiful in its composition, editing, subject and filming. Thanks for posting another gem! You inspire the rest of us vloggers.

  7. Nate says:

Like I was saying the other night about editing talent!

Right now I’m trying to write a paper proposal about the ways in which everyday activities get archived–in short, participatory media users are curators of our own everyday lives. Having been to your house, I get a sense of how this video is about more than hand washing, but also about the spaces and rituals associated with it all. I know where each of those sinks is and how each one requires an ever-so-slightly different technique… thanks for the inspiration!

    The timing is great!

  9. Dave H. says:

The only thing cleaner than your hands in this video is your bathroom sink! What the heck, do you scrub it daily?! Or do you just throw it out and buy a new one every few weeks?!
