Josh, I'm enjoying your work. You're a clever and talented videographer. I just finished watching your Scottish Highlands video on <strong>"XWhaves: Where is The Digital Wave Taking Us?", the WGBH lecture, August 1, 2005, in conjunction with Woods Hole Film Festival</strong>. I think it's great the way video from your videoblog is the highlight of that workshop discussion, and I like the way your work exemplifies the videoblogosphere.

You've inspired me unto the videoblog path. Thanks!

And there's just one more thing about your delightful technique that fascinates me. I'm wondering if you'll tell me exactly how you achieved the side by side camera/video in this New Camera video. It's impressive. How did you do it? Please feel free to email me with a brief description.

Thanks again!

Well, no wonder you're dying for the FedEx man to arrive!

That camera does very, very nicely in such low light and the colors really do look richer. Congrats on the new toys!

I have the iMac 24inch. Just bought it. Fabulous machine.

I've been following the Lynda.com Final Cut Pro training videos and they suggest you use a separate hard drive for your footage otherwise eventual problems arise. Having the computer do all the work can lead to processor and application conflict and thus dropped frames, freezes etc. (Not sure how this effects newer macs but I suspect the possibility of conflict still exists. I went for a separate drive.)

I've recently bought a Lacie 500 gig drive (which crashed incidentally after a few weeks and had to be replaced with the loss of everything I had on it!) and I dump the footage to that. Thought I'd mention this so you could factor in the extra expense if you decide to go the separate drive route.

Congratulation! :)

I just bought one last week. And I can say it's the best consumer HD cam in the market. Did you try the 24p with cinema mode? it's fun :)

That was awesome to see the side by side comparisons. I've always have been a fan of Canon and truly believe they have better looking footage. Can't wait to see more stuff with it.
