My 11 month son went to see a pedatrician yesterday as he is delayed in his development and this was noticed in my son he is waiting to have genetic test as they are suggesting he has a syndrome but dont know what I very upset and worried.
Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I have a palmers crease on my right hand only…..
I am actually Hispanic and I will be 21 on Nov. the 8th and besides being very attentive, I am very artistic….. I draw, I dance, and I write pieces that people are always facinated by when I read them…. I knew I wasn’t the only one who had this but I always did notice that I am more logical than the rest… I have observed a life of uneazyness but not dramatically…. I tend to hide a lot of emotions but I have the most self control in the bunch. No one in my family has this but am glad to know it doesn’t mean death! Lol like someone else had told me… Thank you for your blog, I feel relieved…. Wooooo. Check me out at myspace.com/rocnibeth for those who have it and maybe we can start an intelectual club ahahah but seriously, I would love to keep in touch with someone else who has this…
I have simian creases on both hands. I think it makes me really unique especially when my friends were having hand related conversations (mostly in the pub you understand). My sister has a simian crease on one hand, as does my niece. When she was born the midwife said it was very odd that she had one but my sister explained our family history of it and they were very surprised to find a large outcrop of simian creases. All of us are perfectly healthy women. Its odd that it runs in the female gene of our family, or seems to, rather than the male side especially when men are more likely to have it than women. Maybe we are just unique and it has very little to do with genetics! Not feeling so special now though that there are loads of double creases here!
I have a deep simian crease on my right hand. My life has been tumultuous, intense and never peaceful. I’ve always felt out of place in this world, always feeling jaded by the state of the world as it is. I am blessed with very analytically deep thought and supernatural dexterity, I’ve got ADHD, bi-polar & anxiety problems. I’m never happy for more than a day. But i’ve gotten used to it. Being happy has become a bonus for me. For now, I just want to give as must as possible to the world and live as fully as possible, as I know that I do not belong to this world, and when my time & task is done, I will be able to find my place of solace.
I have this also on my left hand and also my daughter has this on her right hand, ! This has never been my world i wait the day to leave and go back home to the center of our Universe this is where we belong!
My 21-month old granddaughter has a single palmar crease on both hands. She is perfectly normal, healthy, and happy. She has met all her developmental milestones earlier than the textbooks say she should. Her vocabulary is extensive and she seems very intelligent.
I was worried at first, but now I see she is as normal as can be.
Thank you for your website.
Bilateral Simian here, B.S. for short
We are all special people….. Work hard and enjoy life to the fullest.
I have just found out about Single Tranverse Palmar Creases (while watching Silent Witness with my Nan) and i have it on both hands!! I hadn’t realised that the single creases were so uncommon. Good to know im even more unique!!
Thank you for this interesting site. I have one Simian Crease on both of my hands. My Mother had one Simian Crease and one other female relative also had one Simian Crease. It is a genetic trait, and found often in Asian and Native American communities. I have European and supposedly some Native American ancestry.
A Filipino male neighbor has one Simian Crease and recently said that his Uncles and his brothers also have one Simian Crease.
Not all people born with Down’s Syndrome, fragile X or other chromosomal disorders have Simian Creases, although some do.
A Simian Crease has not been considered to be a physical “marker” for Down’s Syndrome for at least ten years.
Within the population of “normal” people who have Simian Creases, there is no increased probability that one would have offspring with a chromosomal disorder.
HI I am Emil,I have just found out about Simian Crease, it is very interesting because my dad has it on both hands. And I have it on my right hand. I always wondered what do they mean. Oddly enough reading this blog i can relate myself in many things. My whole life I have been a “black sheep” different then anyone else.
I would say intelligence dominates in my Simian Crease, I always been good with puzzles. People say that I am problem solver and I think outside the box. My downside is that it is hard for me to express my emotions, I have a short temper, little things irritate me.
I never met anyone with Simian Crease before, except my dad of course. I think talking to somebody with the same thing as I am would help both of us to understand ourselves. So if you would like to contact me ( to talk about some random stuff like : what is the purpose of life? ) here is my info: http://www.myspace.com/dmarkopolo
I have the palmar crease on both hands and just recently figured what it was called. Honestly, it was frustrating to hear people who tried to read my hand say things like “you have no head line and therefore you have no brain”. Well, all I can say is, I guess beng called the “smart kid” in your class your whole life, having a diploma and 2 degrees (in 5 years) and now being a high school teacher at 25 years of age means I’m just a plain idiot. LOL
All in all, it’s fun to find out what makes people unique. I also have extra lines on my fingers so instead of having 3 sections, I’ve got 4. GOOD TIMES!
