Theaters like the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre have brought back to life historic elegant theater seating. Restoration for the enduring beauty and design of theater seating from the past involves integrated workmanship of historical seats which is seldom reached by present day manufacturing standards. Renovated refurbished seating capabilities should guarantee that the seat is brought back to its original state.

With my new iPod I am finally getting caught up on old videos that I hadn't seen and found this two-part video of yours fascinating. Of course I have a house full of theatre technicians here, so everything was familiar--and yet different. I particularly enjoyed the bit of history about the separate seating for African-Americans. How nice that we have evolved from those days!

Anyway, thanks for the tour of community theatre in Grand Rapids.

Good stuff! They're currently renovating the old theater I used to work at in San Diego, so hopefully the result will be something similar!

Good for Grand Rapids and good for you for a terrific overview of the renovation. I particularly liked the before and after shots.
