  1. Good video. What’s the address of your friend’s videoblog?

  2. Matthew J says:

First, great video. Glad you guys got to hang out. Second, this video made me insanely homesick, and I don’t get homesick. I definately want to save some money to come home this summer. Perhaps we should get together and vlog it up. Maybe Michael could come back out. Who knows? Cheers.

  3. Mike Moon says:

Fantastic. I watched Michael’s trip down vlog first. Good to tie it all together.
    Nicely put together Josh.
I live about an hour east of Michael’s. Vloggercon 2007 in Michigan?
    Mike

  4. Yeah, it was pretty friggin’ hot. I spent the weekend doing yardwork and working on the house. Sweating. I think I lost ten pounds of water.

    This weekend is Festival!

  5. Erin Nealey says:

That was beautiful! Looks like you all had a really great day. It’s been mid-90s here in SC as well. That’s cool that you guys got to hang out. Looking forward to meeting you at vloggercon next week!

  6. Susan says:

What an awesome weekend. Someday I’ll get to meet Michael TIE-US too! :D

  7. I’m looking forward to heading out to the beach now more than ever. Going to Maui in June and the water will warm enough to swim in!

  8. Mary Beth says:

Yeah, it was friggin’ HOT!! I spent the entire weekend at my aunt and uncle’s cottege in West Olive (between Holland and Grand Haven). I went kayaking and swimming, but then I’m crazy. :)

  9. Tim says:

    Sweet sunglasses brotha!

  10. Michael Tyas says:

Your feet look weird on the video. I don’t remember them looking that weird in real life.

And I look like I’ve got crazy eyes. Something has to be done about this. Your feet and my eyes, injustice I tell ya!

Okay, I’m going to run right out and buy that song on I-tunes…even though I don’t understand all the lyrics…Did I hear something about bandaids?

I was a little skeptical when you said it was possibly the most picturesque pier in the country because my contrariness immediately said, ” But have you SEEN all the piers in the country? How can you say that?” But that was before your shots of the pier in the sunset. I was completely won over. And even I haven’t seen all the piers in the country. That lighthouse is amazing!

You know, I got in an (online) argument once with someone who insisted that you absolutely COULD NOT call it a beach unless it was along the ocean.

She obviously never visited any of the Great Lakes.

It’s been hot in SoCal as well.

Look forward to seeing in the physical world at Vloggercon since I haven’t made it to Michigan yet. But December I’m coming for sure.

(Claire’s sister here) I’m a fairly recent Michigander meself and glad to know about this beautiful spot although we’re pretty far to the east…we’ll have to check it out sometime. And, me too…off to itunes I go to get that song…like that group.

  17. Evan says:

You always pick the best music for your posts. I really enjoyed this one. It’s so weird seeing you and Tyas together on one 320×240 bit of screen when I’m used to each of you separately. Someday maybe I’ll meet up with some vloggers. Breathtaking sunset.

this is why I love videoblogging – your videos always seem to give me a sense of peace with myself and the world and although some films can do that, they are fiction. but because you are real and true, that peace is all the more sweetened. thanks for another tranquil video.

Finally made it over here from Kim’s blog…

I agree with the commenter that said this video made him insanely homesick. I’m from Hudsonville, a short 30 minutes from GH and now live in Chicago. I don’t get homesick for Michigan – ever – until right now. GH is beautiful and it is so accessible. There really is little that compares to a summer evening walking down that pier. Great video.

every once in a while i do a search for blogs/vlogs/logs that mention my little hometown and look what i found! check out lakemichigancam.com any time you need to get a fix of the pier. your feet kind of creeped me out, though. go easy on the appendages next time.

Hey guys I was just doing a Google Image search on “Grand Haven Beach” to put pictures in my MySpace profile and I came across your Video Log. And I felt compelled to say that you did an out standing job on Vloging your Grand Haven Beach trip. I love the Grand Haven downtown area, I love the State Beach, the Boardwalk and I love good memories, and you put it all together very well! Please keep it coming!
