[...] I can’t believe this kite even flies in this light of wind. It’s full of holes . This video shows my first test flight from today. The story of this kite is Josh tried to fly this same kite in strong gusty winds, then I offered a solution. As the story usually goes, as soon as you make a kite for strong winds, you don’t get strong winds for months… but I was still curious to see if it would even fly at all .
You know, after watching this, we were in wal-mart, and I bought both the kids kites... ;)
Hey, can you tell me how you get the commenting to look so neat--is it a plugin or something? Send me an email. :)

Oh NO Josh! We got those same winds a day later and they were wickedly wild. I had to stay the night at a friends in town because it was too dangerous to drive home with all the blowing snow and the like.

I liked how I could hear the wind howling in the background when you were introducing the post.

I totally knew the kite wasn't going to fly, and was pleasently entertained when it began to attack you.

I think if you would've tied a crunched beer can to the tail, it might've flown a little better, and with the way that wind was blowing, maybe two beers cans...certainly brings back memories, of paper kites, launched and left about a mile up.

It's too windy I kept thinking to myself. Way too windy. Its never gonna fly, I thought. You gave it a fighting try though and what kind of fun would it have been in a gentle breeze anyway. None. No carnage. No breaking braces. No plastic flapping violently in the hurricane force winds. Thanks for sharing. Always fun to watch.

Such a Charlie Brown moment . . . Rachel and I gave up on cheap kites a long time ago! It's all about the two-handled stunt kites now--but I don't think we'd ever try them in winds like that!!

I'll love it when veer you get a 'vlogging-partner' that will help you make the shots. I mean, if being alone you makes this good shots, I can't imagine what you'll eventually do with a second person.

At least it flew a few seconds. And yeah, THAT was a lot of wind...

I love your outdoor adventures - this was great from start to finish. It's been ages since I've flown a kite, you've inspired me.

When you said it was really windy I had visions of a gentle breeze me living in one of the windiest states and all(mostely because of lack of tree) but holy that wind was strong. I wouldn't have even ventured out of my door. Wonderful post as all of your post usually are. Watching kites flying really brings back childhood. I usually wasn't so successful to say the least but that's a different story.

Wonderful post,
Evan (http://e-vlog.blogspot.com)

P.S. Thanks for signing up for my site Josh. I am planning to take a different direction with it. Maybe new PHP code or a new host. I'll keep you posted.
