2005

Posted on Sunday 1 January 2006

2005 captured in photos. My life experiences in digital form. A friend’s wedding, starting my new job, moving to a new home, my brother’s engagement and wedding, a trip to New York to visit other video bloggers, a month long trip around Germany, the last photos of my now demolished childhood home, a trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, a pilgrim Thanksgiving, a few Christmas parties, some fun times in South Carolina, and the best New Years Eve to date!

Music: Sufjan Stevens - The Predatory Wasp of the Palisades Is Out to Get Us

The way certain series of photographs connected together made it feel like split seconds of animation–something to experiment with later!

“Best New Year’s Eve ever”–you lucky guy! We sat around watching movies while being sick.

Great video by the way, but I’ve got a question…for anyone. I noticed that Josh’s videos look really crisp and load very fast even though they might be lengthy. I’m new at this Vlogging thing and using codecs to get my videos compressed. What codecs and compression ratios is he using? Does anyone know? I’m trying to load a ten min film and the thing is a massive 100mb! It takes too long to stream. Does anyone have any help? And Josh if you read this, give it up. What do you crush at to get those clear videos?

I love the still photo things. they lend such a powerful sense of nostalgia to things. and that was a HELL of a lot of photos. I wish I had so many of my year, but at that speed my video would probably only last about 30 seconds tops. maybe i should resolve to do better at that this year.

Oh my gosh…I’m speachless. I’m blown away out of this world. Josh, you freaking GENIUS! That was incredible. I dared not blink the entire time it played for fear of missing a frame.

You told your story and it was wonderful and exhilerating. It was a rush! It was fantastic! I am running out of descriptive words!

Fantastic! Beautifully done. And the music! Who did the music? Anyone have any idea who the band is and the name of the song?
