Grand Rapids is famous for Brain Vander Ark! You know? The Verve Pipe! I love them.

I hear you about having people laugh at you. Most don’t see the huge impact these videos can have and will have. I saw your sunshine vid, kinda weird, I had also made a vlog about trains. Good stuff.

  5. Dave says:

Undisputed best moment: running up the gerald ford wall, then doing a pirouette. You are unparalleled Mr. Leo.

Some day there will be interviews on the street: “Grand Rapids, Home of Josh Leo. Some people don’t like his vlogs. Some people are like ehh, yeah, they’re good.”

Hey Josh I saw your comment on grit.tv and just thought I’d wander here. I’m one of the cohosts for Grit and strange thing is we both go to Calvin. I thought you looked familiar.

  8. dude

    -is he still alive???

    Josh, seriously funny… I can’t say no more…

Being a former citizen of Grand Rapids, I really appreciate this film. Grand Rapids isn’t known for much, so even if he was a “joke” president, we still have to hang on to it. Cheers to your documentory skills.

Also, my dad knew Brain Vander Ark’s dad.

  11. Evan says:

If only I had the energy to put something like that together.

  12. trine says:

Josh, I love your vlog! This is excellent! I’m norwegian and we have no one famous that anyone’s ever heard of, anwyay… really cool video!

  13. Ah, Gerry. So loveable. So accidental. I love the “just an average citizen can become president”–especially when you’re not elected! I (Nate) got yelled at and was almost escorted away from the museum for playing in the fountain.

Next on your list: do the monument to 50 Years of Fluoridation!

  14. Jan says:

Your usual twists of image / audio are much appreciated, Josh.

    Really, really loved this one.
So random, so much work and love
put into this, and an unbelievable
amount being said just by setting out
    to make something about Ford.

  16. I WOULD KILL FOR THAT GLOSSY PHOTO.

  22. Misty Long-Birgy says:

Hello, I am doing a paper on the expenses of the Gerald Ford Funeral for the two days in Grand Rapids, MI. I came upon you randomly while trying to gather information on how much it cost for his funeral. I work for the MSP and I know we alone received a great deal of OT. With all of the different agencies involved I imagine the expense was quite high. I thought perhaps you may have had some of that information or at least a break down of most agencies involved. If you can help me it would be appreciated.

    Thank you Misty
