I am doing a required school project now ... and I chose Dachau
While researching, I came upon this and watched these tragic footages... and I have a deeper feel for what really went on.

Just the fact about the children, being burned alive. Yelling for their moms and dads to help. It must have been so terrible as a parent to know that you could not do anything at all ... except watch your child be burned to death.

This movie is so well done. Whoever you are .. I love your work.

¿Acaso vamos a empezar ahora a clasificar genocidios? ¿"Este es peor que aquel", y cosas así?

In 1996, on the way to Salzburg to visit, I stopped at Munich, took a short bus to Dachau, and walked around in the blizzard. It was bizarre for me to see the suburbs encroaching the camp's fence. The concentration camp was built in Spring 1933.

It's important for us e-mail our elected officals today and raise our concern over inhumanity, genocide and violence. We have to let them know where we stand. Websites like http://www.vote-smart.org/index.htm
help you find your representative in the USA.

Another awesome vid. I went to Dachau a couple months ago and you captured it well. The scariest part is that as you learn about the conditions that lead up to WW2 for the Germans, you realize that something like this could happen again in the future.

Good music too- Evocation of the Spirit by Robert Shaw is one of my favorite CD's

Wow. The voice overs were of course very powerful (and good choice of music). The camera work was also very good ... sometimes a a lingering shot of barbed wire is the perfect thing.

I didnt get to see any of the camps when I was in Germany. I guess it's one of those things you dont want to see but feel like you should have when you had the chance.

Nicely done.

it's so hard to imagine living in such a time with such horror that everyone knows happened - but this video exquisitely captured how it actually felt to be there - then I remember, I do know what it's like because thanks to Bush that time is now, not that extreme, but certainly that potentially horrifying. if we only knew.

Josh, I salute you for attempting to grapple with this. Personally, I grew up absorbing so much of this kind of media via various Jewish educational experiences I was part of, that watching video with voice overs didn't do much for me. I actually think it would have touched me more to hear your own personal reflections. But hey, that's just me.

Since Hitler we've had multiple cases of genocide---in the former Soviet Union, Cambodia, Rwanda, Darfur and a whole lot more. Genocide happens all too often. I hope reflecting on the evil of Hitler's mass murders spurs people to learn about what's going on right now, and the motivation to do something about it.

I just can't believe that happened. I mean, I know it did happen. But I just can't understand how people could do that to another living thing. There is a special place in hell for people like that.
