Wow - you saw a lot of New York. You’ve got some really great shots in there, I love it.
I also see that you appear to have made your flight - you must have used one of those cabs that come when you call. I’m going to check into that next time.
I’m so happy I got to meet you - can’t wait till we can all be there again.

Josh, you’ve managed a little miracle with this one — how something so simple — seeing the sights of NY, could be so poignant — truly amazing.

Jay seemed to really care that you were leaving. This one is very beautiful, flowing feel, I like it. You really have a good mix of humor, informative, and heartfelt videos here. Someday I am going to sit down and watch all of them in a row full screen and see the progression. Keep it up, because day after day, I wait to see what you will put up next. Awesome.

damn you! I was attacked on the plane for having my camera on during take off! but of course - still visually poetic with such an admirable sincerity from Jay. wonderful.

i’m glad you lingered so long on that subway shot. i was amazed that the camera was able to focus on individual people inside the moving train. very cool.

the music was perfect, too. good work. :)

That just about sums it up, doesn’t it? I’m surprised you made NYC so calming, esp. it being your first time there. I usually find it pretty chaotic…but Jay has that way about him.

Really nice vid, Josh, and it was absolutely a pleasure meeting you.

A job well done, as always.

Can’t wait to see NYC for myself one day, and now I have FRIENDS to see while there, too! God the internet is awesome.

You’ve captured so many tiny snapshots of whatever it is we seek in vlogging: “truth”, “reality”, “realness.” Simple emotional honesty.

But in three minutes and seven seconds–and at 320×240 pixels, no less–I recognize:

    - anticipation of the last stop on a trip one wishes didn’t have to end
    - the raw, formal beauty of the NY subway
    - the quietness of being someplace bigger than one’s self
    - the rhythms of the masculine farewell ritual
    - and the window seat reflection upon a trip that has left one changed

    Momentous, I’d call it.

whew, this is a beauty my man.

that S&G tune gets me - can’t go wrong with that.
(tough call between that and my other sweet favorite NYC song - Harry Nilsson, “I Guess the Lord Must Be in New York City”)

also reminds me of when i was there for Vloggercon in january, and andrew baron took me up to the Empire and saw me off too… all in all that trip made a deep emotional imprint on me, and i know from this video the same thing happened to you.

I liked the long train shot too. Especially how you could see your reflection.

Also liked the lights seen outside the train window.

Jay should get a season pass to the Emire State Building.

You had me at, “well I’m glad you came.”

    Very emotional.

You’ve shared a sweet story with sound and moving pictures.

Couldn’t have been done with just text or audio.

    Thanks.

Hey Josh.. So what happened in NY? Do you know if anyone put of a summary of their experiences or things that went on there on blog/vlog?

The existential moments in this one.
Dedman in deep thought 90 stories, 1000 ft
above NYC, and Leo taking off, heading home?
    I got weepy.
